Aids Lifecycle is an annual cycling event produced by the Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation. The event sees over 3,000 cyclists per year ride the 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles in one week. Last year the event made 17 millions dollars to go toward reducing new HIV infections and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.
This design could be implemented by Aids Lifecycle at recruiting events throughout the year as well as on the ride itself. The Interactive Cycle Competition engages people while giving them a glimpse at how much HIV medication can cost and how riding on the event can help. The Pill Bottle Gallery displays stories of past and present participants as well as facts about living with HIV and Aids.
